Chandon Argentina in Mendoza: Luxury Sparkling Wines

Nestled in the heart of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Chandon Argentina is the birthplace of South America’s most prestigious sparkling wines.

The story of Chandon Argentina began in 1958, when French winemaker Renaud Poirier arrived in the region in search of the ideal terroir for crafting sparkling wines. One year later, Moët & Chandon — part of the luxury conglomerate LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) — chose Argentina to establish its first subsidiary outside France, laying the foundations for what is now Chandon Mendoza.

Since then, the winery has been a pioneer in the production of premium sparkling wines in Latin America, developing vineyards in some of Mendoza’s most privileged areas. Its expertise, inherited from more than 260 years of Champagne tradition, is reflected in iconic labels such as Chandon Extra Brut, Délice, and Apéritif — the latter achieving remarkable success in international markets including France, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

Chandon not only leads the Argentine market but continues to innovate. A clear example is the launch of Chandon Délice, a sparkling wine designed to be enjoyed over ice, challenging tradition and gaining popularity in several countries.

The winery also continues to invest in the region. Recently, it announced a €3.8 million investment to double its production capacity, reaching 12,000 bottles per hour.

This icon of Mendoza’s sparkling wine scene is not only an oenological gem but also a must-visit destination for wine lovers. The winery offers guided tours that include a stroll through its gardens, production areas, and underground cellar, culminating in a tasting of its most distinguished sparkling wines.

With a legacy of excellence and the backing of LVMH, Chandon Mendoza continues to position itself as a global benchmark in sparkling wine production, bringing Argentina’s name to the highest standards of luxury and winemaking.
